Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Gravel Calculator Android app ("the app", "we", "us") collects, how it is used, and the choices available to you. By using the app, you agree to the terms described here.
Information the app does not collect
The app does not require an account, does not ask for your name, address, or phone number, and does not access your contacts, photos, or location.
Information stored on your device
The following is kept locally on your device and is not sent to us:
- Saved projects (dimensions, material choice, and cost estimates you choose to save)
- Calculator inputs and preferences, such as unit system and default material
- Any API key you choose to enter for the optional AI advice feature, described below
Optional AI structural advice feature
The app includes an optional feature that lets you ask a project or material question and receive AI-generated advice. This feature only activates if you supply your own API key for a supported provider. When you use it:
- Your question text and the corresponding API key are sent directly from your device to the provider you selected (Google Gemini, OpenAI, Groq, or OpenRouter).
- We do not receive, store, or have access to your API key or your questions.
- Use of this feature is subject to the selected provider's own privacy policy and terms of service.
Advertising
The app displays ads served through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the advertising ID), approximate location, and app usage data to serve and measure ads, and may use this data to personalize ads where permitted. This collection is governed by Google's own privacy policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy. You can reset or limit ad tracking through your device's system settings.

Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data retention and deletion
Saved projects and preferences remain on your device until you delete them from within the app or uninstall the app. Uninstalling the app removes this locally stored data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
